Authentic artifacts recovered from the actual shipwreck of the Titanic are currently displayed for the first time in South Africa in Cape Town (V&A Waterfront). The exhibition opened on the 22 of November and will be departing in March 2016.
The Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the life of Titanic. The Exhibition has been designed with a focus on the legendary ship’s compelling human stories. Those attending will find out about the lives of South Africans that were on board Titanic, learn about passengers and crew members, admire a recreated iceberg installed at the exhibition and relive the events of that fatal night.
When you purchase a ticket you get a boarding pass with details of a ship member who actually lived on the titanic, and then at the end of the expedition you find out if you survived or not – I loved this! You also get to see how the first and third class passengers slept and lived.
Tickets for Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition are available at the expo or through Webtickets and range from R80 and up.
Visit Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition daily from 09h00 to 18h00, Monday through to Sunday.
